2009
Before I'm going to tell you what I've been doing after went to Marry Poppin show, I would like to wish you all happy new year 2009.
It's been a long time I did not get back to my blogging routine, work was not very progressive, mind had been worried about lots of things, however, here I am now!
After Christmas party with peers, I packed my bag, heading to Northern Ireland with my friends. It's nice country with plenty of friendly and helpful people in every conner. Giant Crossway, place of which is house of hexagon-stone columns which were born by force of nature, is fascinating! The main city, to me, wasn't impressed me much as Edinburgh. However, it was really nice capital city. And I have to admit again that Irish are very nice :)
Back to work again in January, we're wishing that the weather would be kind for tropical people like us. But the snow from Siberia was visiting Edinburgh! Lots of snow (enough to build a snowman!). White Valentine.....queer!
Shouldn't be more snow from now on since we're about to welcome Spring! But I guess, we'll never know.

Spoonful of Sugar
Dear all
I went to Marry Poppin the musical show at Edinburgh Playhouse on Wednesday night (9th Oct). It was brilliant! And it's not too much to say "Disney did it again"
I saw the film when I was very young and the only think I could remember of is there's Julie Andrew in it. After refreshed my memory before I went for the show, I did impress that the songs are really lovely and meaning full. Encouraging by friend of mine, P'Nieng, she said that it's a good piece of work she has read. That's my new knowledge though, since I hadn't known that it was written as a book before was developed for musical performance.
Bring you back to After world war II era, Marry Poppins tell the story of Bank family who have an opportunity to meet the sceptically supernatural nanny who seems to appear from nowhere and has a mission to sort out the problems in this family. For kids, this story mainly teaches them to be nice with others whom may be different from them in some extends and warm relationship in family. Similar to Peter Pan, in my view, it also reminds grown up for the childhood dreams that seem to be forgotten; Disney's theme that's I've always been in love.
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious is the only definition I would like to describe songs from this show. I'm musical fan but some of this song surely can be independent. They are simply simple and classic. Big hand for the band as well. One think I didn't expect is Matthew Bourne is the choreographer for the show! I've seen his Dorian Grey: modern dance show this August. It was amazing and no doubt he did good job for this one. Apart from that, rapid scene changing and magic skill of these actors and actress were impressive.
Gotta go now, till we meet again.

Visiting Glasgow
Another nice weekend with warm friendship atmosphere in Scotland.
The weather in Edinburgh this weekend was miserable. But look at this pictures! How lucky I was in warm and nice Glasgow!
P'Nieng planned to go to Glasgow with her friend for shopping. She was kind enough to ask me if I was fancy to come along. I didn't expect to do anything special this weekend, and as the tickets were quite reasonable (9.80 pounds), then I had it a goal! From Waverley to Haymarket, then Livingston, train took us to Centre Glasgow in about half hour. Kak, friend of mine, was waiting us at the station and then our fun day was begun! Main area of University of Glasgow, of which my friend is studing for this second MSc isn't too far from his place. The buildings were classic, nice, and well preserved. The university has itown cathedral in the main area just opposite to the main hall! How nice! We spend reasonable of time in Kevingroove museum and the Museum of Transportation which was just walk away from the main part of the university. Kak got the same idea as mine, there are handful of fascinating collections in Thailand but for some reason, they've been took care and displayed properly. Should we care more about that? Well, I think that wouldn't only do any harm, but also enhance learning environment for children and provide educational place for the whole families to have time together on weekends.
Through his introduction,
I've seen Glasgow with different eyes. It is not look so dark and dangerous as I experienced for the first time. In fact, people were friendly and the main area was such a nice place to be live. I'm happy to know that my friend loves the school, the community and the environment. After warndering around the city, we took the tube back to the shopping area, do wee bit of shopping before cought the train back to Edinburgh.
I was thankful I have a good local guide and glad to know that he would like to visit me a week later. That should garantee to you, dear reader, that I'm, at least, going to have something nice to write about next week.
Cheers for reading, I'm better to do a wee bit work before I'll go to bed and get ready for Monday, working!
